 Police are expanding their investigation into illegal overseas gambling cases involving idol group Choshinsung members Yoon-hak and Sung-je.


According to the police on the 15th, the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's regional investigation unit is investigating the situation in which gang members were involved in the incident.


Police are also checking whether other celebrities who have already been booked on gambling charges.


However, it was found that none of the members of the same team are under police investigation except for Yoon-hak and Seong-je.


They are accused of gambling "Bakara" once or twice in the Philippines from 2016 to 2018 with 7,000 dollars to 50,000 dollars in stakes.


"I didn't go to the Philippines to gamble," they told the police.


The police plan to arrest gambling house operators and others soon to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.


A police official said, "The investigation is currently underway, so we can not reveal the details of the case."


SV Entertainment, the agency of Yoon-hak and Seong-je, issued an official statement and apologized.


"Yoon-hak and Sung-je deeply regret and reflect on their careless behavior due to their complacent thoughts during the trip," the agency said. "I am sorry for causing concern and disappointment."


Debuting in 2007, Choshinsung resumed her career in Japan under the new group name "Super Nova" in 2018.


The group has been ranked at the top of the Oricon charts several times, and Yoon-hak and Sung-je are also actors in both Korea and Japan.
