Jessica of ‘Girls' Generation’, Debuts as a novelist with autobiographical novels

‘Girls' Generation’ member Jessica (real name Jeong Su-yeon, 31) will publish an autobiographical novel based on her past singer experience.

Jessica's first novel "Shine" (translated by Park Ji-young, RH Korea), which is set to be published at the end of this month, is a "Hyper Realism" novel that contains her experience as a singer.

The story is about Rachel Kim, a Korean-American girl who dreams of becoming a K-pop star. The girl is selected as a trainee for the agency's DB Entertainment and tries for six years to get a chance.

But her dreams begin to falter when she meets top star Jason Lee.

The book's content was introduced by the publisher, RH Korea, which described the long practice life that K-pop stars should experience, the harsh criticism of many people, strict rules, timing and jealousy, covert media manipulation, and unfair treatment as a woman in a realistic manner.

According to the publisher, "Shine" will be published in 11 countries including Korea, Brazil, Indonesia and Vietnam, and will be made into a film.
